I was helping a businessman from India today.So I would like to share my working experience with this indian customer as chinese interpreter and business travel assistant. It was his first time coming over to China.He is a big boss owning a big company of more than 200 people in India and have office in Belgium.
When we met we had little discussion in the garden hotel lobby about business schedule and I realized he was so organized and professional person.He prepared all documents and put different company data in different folder.Inside also have company contact,address and how long distance and how many minutes from hotel etc.All information is very detail and I am very much impressed. It also tell us better sucess with better prepared.
So after that we went to take taxi to one company in haizhu district.The driver we met is a lady and she was not familiar with roads and take us long time and trouble to get there.So it also teach us a lesson that we should never take taxi with lady driver as they are not so good at roads.
We arrived finally and the company size was quite small.As sales person not so professional,so the customer asked the boss to have meeting together.It comes out a lady boss and she looks pretty cool and sleepy in beginning but later she realized our customer was professional in this industry and a real buyer,her face starts to have smile.In order to help them communicate better,I help them translate from time to time because the boss english was not so good.After discussion about all products he interested,the price,the terms etc,we start to take leave.
The boss used mobile apps named uber to call for car.So about 10minutes the car arrived and ready to send us back.By that time I do realize our technology had been so developed and our life become more convenient because of those technology.
So later we arrived hotel and he organized to meet another translator for his trip in shenzhen as I was engaged in 5th(the day after tomorrow) for watch quality checking.He asked me to accompany him to meet this translator and see if she is good.So I told the girl I was his friend and I kept quiet during their meeting.Later due to time reason,I left first and leave time for them to know more about each other.
When I was on the way travelling back,he called me again to ask if I can change my quality checking schedule or he can wait for me that day till 1pm and we go to shenzhen together becuase he likes to work with me and I am more professional and intellegent than her.I feel appreciated with his comments but since I already confirm schedule with other clients,so I need to keep my promise and was not able to change them now.Hopefully will have chance to help him next time when he comes to China.
What I learned today is whatever you do will always come back to you.If you treat people in good way,you will always get good result.It is same with customers.
