During the last few years I was lucky enough to spend a large portion of my time with European, American, and other Non-Chinese people. My clients asked me what can do and where to go in Shenzhen when they come here. I would like to share little experiences about Shenzhen here.
Shenzhen is located in the Pearl River Delta, bordering Hong Kong to the south, Huizhou to the north and northeast and Dongguan to the north and northwest. Shenzhen was a small village 35 years ago. Now it has become one of the most modern cities in China.
Where to go?
Luohu station: Luohu shopping center
It is one of the place foreigner expat like to go there for shopping as it\'s cheap and can find some good quality commodities).
Laojie station: Dong Men Pedestrian Street
Dong men pedestrian street is an area which consist of a lot of shops and mini stalls where you can find whatever you want and the price is very cheap. There are plenty of food stalls, hawker stalls and restaurant as well as fast food restaurant available. Don men is one of the busiest place in Shenzhen especially on weekend.
Huaqiang Lu: Huaqiang North Electronic Market
Huaqiang North Electronic Market is the biggest electronic market in China. It has gathered electronic retailer, whole seller and other type of shopping malls. You can find everything in this area of Shenzhen including mobile phones, cameras, gadgets, laptops, pc’s, lcd’s, cables, accessories, batteries from brand names like Canon, Sony, Dell, Apple, Asus etc etc in this place.
Shopping park: COCO Park
Coco Park is a large shopping mall in Shenzhen. It equips shops, Chinese/Western restaurants and bars. There are lot of expats come here for pleasure on weekend.
Qiaocheng Dong: (Mangrove Seashore Ecological Park, OCT Bay)
Mangrove Seashore Ecological Park is a national park in Shenzhen. It is located between Futian district and Nanshan district.
Oct Bay: It is a new recreational area which is located Binhai avenue. Here is gathering Chinese/Western restaurants,bars, coffee shops and water show theatre
Window of the world: Happy Valley, China folk culture village, splendid China and Window of the world
Line 2:
Grand theater: Lichi Park, Mix city, KK Mall
Lichi Park: It\'s located in Futian district.The park is famous for luxuriant Litchi trees, thrived bushes, verdant grass and peaceful environment.
Mix city: It\'s the biggest mall in Shenzhen and one of the best mall in Southern China. You can find the luxury brand here such as LV, Prada, Cucci and etc.
Huaqiang North: Huaqiang North Electronic market
Lianhua West: Lianhua mountain park
This is Shenzhen’s main and most central park.It is a beautiful park worth to go. It only takes 20 mins to the top of mountain.
SeaWorld station: Sea world Plaza, Nanshan Park
Sea world Plaza: It was known as Shenzhen\'s first international entertainment hub. The new sea world plaza was officially finished renovation about 2 months ago. Here has more western restaurants options for the expats.
Nanshan park: It\'s nearby Sea world plaza which takes about 5 minutes\'walking. The park is quiet that you can relax there. It takes about 30-40 mins to the top of the mountain.
Line 3:
Dafen station: Dafen Oil painting Village
Dafen Oil Painting Village is dedicated to painting.It has attracted lot of tourist to there. You can purchase good price of painting but you need to know how to bargain.
Nanlian Station: New Crane Lake Hakka Village
New Crane Lake Hakka Village is the musume mainly about the history and culture of Hakka becuase The locals of Shenzhen are originally Hakka.
All the above places you can go by metro which is very convenient.
