Its funny that freeiva gave me the platform to let us share some ideas and tips during the trip that I have been involved with so far.
Since my trip this moment is mainly attached with business trips I would like to share some personal opinions while I was attending or participating the meetings between Chinese and western people.
1. Intimacy
No matter what industry that you are involved with Chinese people the first impact is the gesture difference. Most Chinese people are not really into the very close and intimate contact in public while you are in a serious business discussion despite the after-meeting relaxing time. While most western people are a big fun of hugging and show their being nice. The truth is its not that Chinese people are against real intimacy, but just to avoid too close connection in public.
2.Dining Habit
Most Chinese people are a big believer of \"Food is God for the people\" so do not be surprised that your table is served funny with dazzling dishes, be stucked into numberous toasts, and various treatment. Its just a way that Chinese people\'s eager to show their welcome and well hospitality.
3.Communication tones and style
As we know western people are not really into a way of having a very long conversation sitting face to face to each other for a whole day but if you not patient enough, you might lose the chance to deal with real big Chinese business dealers because it takes some time for them to build trust in you and burst investment. In the meanwhile they might talk around instead of business to get to know you before they start serious business relationship.
