Being a professional Mandarin/Cantonese/Shanghainese interpreter in Melbourne (with NAATI level 3 accreditation) for about 2 years has offered me a superb pathway of getting know the society and humanity, as well as exploring my potential capability. Yes, I like taking challenge. Every work that I have done helps me have a better idea of how Westerners do business. And I want to keep offering this service especially that I just came back to China and I know how Chinese people do business as well. I am confident that I can be a perfect communicating bridge for both parties.
Since I was working as a Full Time interpreter in Melbourne, I can only list a few of my clients here, otherwise it will be too long.
Some of my business interpreting experiences:
May 2011, Worked as a business interpreter for a Chinese delegation. I had a trip with them to Ararat city (near Melbourne) and met the mayor of Ararat. My job was interpreting for them in the meeting for signing up a contract of becoming a sister city of each other.
July 2011-Mar 2012, Worked as an interpreter and translator for Meyer Cookware Australia Pty Ltd. Responsible for interpreting for their production demonstration session and also the translation of their product brochure.
Nov 2011, Worked as an interpreter for a delegation of Chinese university presidents. During those few days, the delegation, coming from 28 top universities in China, visited University of Melbourne, Monash, RMIT, and Victoria University. My job was interpreting for them in academic seminars and also helping them to ask and answer questions during teatime or lunch buffet.
July 2012, Worked as an interpreter for a delegation from Beijing, China, in a business meeting with Department of Human Service of Australia.
